Discover

Map the workflow where it hurts, with the people who do the work: workshops, a boundary census, a data request. Capture a baseline, then score each candidate automation on four tests:

  • Volume enough repeats to pay back the work
  • Rule stability the rules change rarely
  • An owner who accepts the change
  • An error cost the business can absorb

Design

The blueprint. Redesign the process first and automate only what survives. Workflow redesign, not tool distribution: a faster version of a broken process is still a broken process.

Pilot & decide

Run a pilot against the measured baseline, then decide with the numbers in front of you whether to scale, adjust or stop. Every phase ends at a decision gate you control: stop, reshape or authorize.

Delivery models

We offer both fixed-scope builds and time-and-materials. Which fits depends on how well defined the problem is: a clearly bounded problem with known inputs and outcomes suits a fixed scope, and one that is still being explored suits time and materials. Care plans follow handover. SAP programs run Waterfall, Agile (Scrum and Kanban) or hybrid, matched to the organization.

What building taught us

Know what to stop

About a third of what we start is deliberately stopped or archived. Stopping early is a result, not a failure.

The model is not the control loop

Policy lives in code. The model gets one narrow judgment, cached, with a deterministic fallback, so behavior does not drift between runs.

Synthetic tests are not evidence

Systems that passed every synthetic check broke on the first real data. We test against real data from day one.

Jerome Mungapen

Mungapen Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2007 in San Francisco by Jerome Mungapen, a supply chain management and SAP specialist with a career spanning PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM Business Consulting Services, and independent engagements with some of the world's largest technology companies.

With 30 years of hands-on SAP experience and 32+ years in supply chain management, Jerome brings deep technical knowledge and business process expertise. His track record includes 30+ go-lives, six major business process transformations, and a habit of building long-term relationships that go beyond a single project, including a 13-year engagement with Micron Technology and 3 years with Intel.

Today, AI automation and process design are a growing practice that Mungapen Consulting is building alongside its SAP supply chain work, and it is becoming a major part of the business. Jerome designs the process first, automates what survives, and builds it under a test-first, auditable method, for Fortune 100 enterprises and growing businesses alike.
